Textbook Policy

Luther Rice College & Seminary expects all students to buy assigned textbooks as they are essential tools for academic success.  Students should not only buy their textbooks, they should buy them early as students are assigned chapters from course textbooks to read each week.  Textbooks can be purchased from anywhere you like. If you choose to buy hard copies of textbooks online, please plan ahead and buy them early from big retailers for fast shipment. The official Luther Rice textbook list is available 30 days prior to the semester start date at http://www.lutherricebooks.com/

Luther Rice library purchases textbooks generally; however, it does not carry every textbook. Some course textbooks are available for students to access. Hard copies of textbooks are placed on course reserve at the beginning of each semester for “In-library use,” which means that they cannot be taken outside of the library. They are available at the library's check out desk. The Library does not borrow textbooks and/or required reading for students through Interlibrary Loan. The library staff will not reproduce and provide any textbook content.  To find out if a print textbook for your class is on reserve in the library, go the library catalog and type the textbook title into the search box. If your course textbook is not listed in the library catalog, you can check to see, if the title is available in digital format through OneSearch. In this guide you will find a list of all textbooks the library provides online.  Please see use the navigation tabs on the left for each course.
