Good practice in research is to only use quotations from sources that you have viewed in the original form so that you can verify their accuracy. However, when the original source is unavailable (i.e. unpublished manuscript), researchers may need to include the quotation as it is found in a secondary source. This is done by using the terms "quoted in" and then listing the secondary source information in the citation (17.9.3).
